Anna here. Confession: I spend far too much time scouring the internet for funnies and interesting articles. Occasionally I find something that I wish everyone would read and know about. This is the place where you will find those things.
A (losing) contestant from “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” goes into quite a bit of detail about the game show process, and then touches on what it means to take risks and follow your dreams. I found it inspiring!
A couple pares down their possessions to design their dream house. 704 kind of sounds like a lot!!! 🙂
“A preoccupation with safety has stripped childhood of independence, risk taking, and discovery – without making it safer. A new kind of playground points to a better solution.”
I am not a parent but love this whole philosophy and thought this was a great article.
It is adorable.
“Blind optimism, it turns out, does not motivate people; instead, as Dr. Oettingen shows in a series of clever experiments, it creates a sense of relaxation complacency. It is as if in dreaming or fantasizing about something we want, our minds are tricked into believing we have attained the desired goal.”
This article reminded me of a thought I had expressed in my previous post, Decision Making.
